Push-to-Talk (voice agent)

Sometimes typing is the slowest part of working with AI.

When you have a detailed question, need to explain context, or want Vega to perform a multi-step task, writing everything out can interrupt your workflow.

Push-to-Talk lets you speak to Vega naturally from anywhere in the platform.

Instead of typing:

“Look at my last meeting with John, summarize the estate planning discussion, create a note for my CRM, and remind me to follow up next week.”

You can simply say it.

PTT is designed to make conversations with Vega faster, more natural, and closer to how you would interact with an actual assistant.

How to activate Push-to-Talk

Using Push-to-Talk is simple:

Press and hold the space bar on your keyboard and start speaking.

A small Vega voice sphere will appear at the bottom center of your screen, letting you know Vega is listening.

As you speak, the voice interface expands and displays the transcript of what you are saying in real time.

When you release the space bar, Vega will process your dictation.

What happens next depends on where you are in the platform.

How to use Push-to-Talk

Dictating into a text field

If your cursor is active inside a text field, Push-to-Talk acts as voice dictation.

This includes places such as:

  • Vega chat message box

  • search bars

  • settings fields

  • any other text input area

When you release the space bar, Vega automatically inserts your dictated text into the selected field.

You can then review, edit, or submit it like any message you typed manually.

Using Push-to-Talk anywhere in Vega

Push-to-Talk is not limited to text fields.

If you press and hold the space bar while browsing Vega without having a text field selected, Vega will capture your request and open the voice action menu.

From there, you can decide what to do with your dictation:

Delete

Cancel the dictation.

Copy

Copy the transcript so you can paste it somewhere else.

New

Create a new Vega chat thread and send your message directly to Vega. This is useful when you want to start a new conversation or workflow.

Current

Continue the current chat thread already open on your screen. You will see this option when you already have an active chat thread open, either:

  • on the Vega chat page

  • or in the Vega sidebar assistant

The Current option sends your message into that existing conversation so you can keep working with the same context.

Reminder:

You can open the Vega chat from anywhere in the platform by clicking the AI icon in the top right corner of your screen.

This opens Vega as a sidebar assistant.

When opened from another page, Vega understands the page you are currently viewing.

For example, if you are on a meeting page, Vega can use that meeting context, including:

  • linked clients

  • meeting information

  • generated outputs

  • transcript

You can then use Push-to-Talk to ask questions or take action without leaving the page.

What you can ask Vega with Push-to-Talk

Push-to-Talk does not change what Vega can do. It changes how quickly you can ask.

Anything you can type in a chat thread (read article: Chat threads), you can say with PTT.

For example:

  • “Give me a summary of my last conversation with Sarah.”

  • “Create a task to follow up with John next Friday.”

  • “Draft an email response based on this conversation.”

  • “Analyze this meeting and tell me the most important takeaways.”

  • “Research the latest Roth IRA contribution limits.”

Depending on your request, Vega can activate its different AI agents (read article: Vega's AI agents).

A practical way to think about it

Typing is still available when you need precision.

Push-to-Talk is for the moments where speaking is faster.

Long questions, detailed context, meeting follow-ups, research requests, CRM updates… you can simply tell Vega what you need.

The goal is simple: less time navigating software, more time getting work done.
