Meetings don’t only happen behind a desk or virtually.
A large portion of advisor workflows happen during in-person meetings, while traveling, between meetings, after client dinners, in conference hallways, or immediately after an in-person meeting when details are still fresh.
The Vega iOS app is designed to make sure those workflows remain accessible anywhere, while still keeping the same Vega context and experience you’re used to on the web platform.
Recording with the Vega iOS app
The Vega iOS app is the most common way advisors record in-person meetings when using an iPhone or iPad.
To record a meeting:
Open the Vega iOS app.
Go to the Meetings page.
Either:
Select an existing meeting from Recent or Upcoming, or
Create a new meeting under Record (When creating a new meeting, you can enter a meeting title and select the contacts linked to the meeting).
Tap the microphone icon to start recording.
During the meeting, you can pause, resume, or reset the recording at any time.
At the end of the meeting, tap Send to Vega.
Once the recording is sent, Vega will automatically process it and generate the post-meeting analysis.
Offline or poor connection
If you are in a location with weak Wi-Fi or cellular service, Vega will queue the recording in the Record section of the Meetings page. You can send it to Vega later once you have a stable connection. No data is lost, and you remain fully in control of when the recording is uploaded.
Auto-save recordings
The Vega iOS app also includes automatic recording saves in the background. Every 5 minutes, the recording is automatically saved locally on the device while recording is in progress.
This means that if:
the app is closed before clicking “Send to Vega”
the phone turns off during or shortly after the recording
…the recording can often still be recovered afterward from the queued recordings section inside the app.
Chat threads
The chat threads in the Vega iOS app are the same threads you already use in the Vega web platform.
This means:
conversations automatically stay synchronized between web and mobile
you can start a conversation on desktop and continue it later from your phone
all existing thread context is preserved
For example, if you were researching a planning topic or discussing a client in a thread from your computer earlier in the day, you can reopen that exact same thread from the iOS app later without losing context.
Chat actions
Inside a chat thread, clicking the (+) icon at the bottom left gives you access to several thread actions:
Use Thinking: Switch between Instant and Thinking modes depending on whether you want faster responses or deeper reasoning.
Rename: Rename the chat thread to better organize your workflows.
Manage contacts and households: Link and manage the contacts and households associated with the thread.
Clear messages: Clear the conversation history inside the chat thread.
Delete chat: Delete the chat thread entirely.
Typing and dictation
You can interact with Vega either by typing or by dictating.
To dictate, simply tap the microphone icon inside the chat input area.
This makes it easier to interact with Vega while moving between meetings or when typing long prompts from a phone would be inconvenient.
