Navigation and productivity shortcuts

Updated over a week ago

This guide walks through a few simple shortcuts and interface elements that help you move faster inside Vega. Most of these features work anywhere in the Vega web platform and are designed to reduce clicks and keep you focused on the conversation or task at hand.

Global shortcuts and navigation

Jump anywhere in Vega

You can quickly navigate to almost anything in Vega using the search shortcut.

  • Cmd + K (Mac)

  • Ctrl + K (Windows)

This opens the global navigation card.

From there you can:

  • Search for a chat, meeting, contact, note, household, email

  • Navigate to a page in Vega

  • Create a new chat, meeting, contact, note, household

Use the up and down arrow keys to move through the options.

Press Enter to select the highlighted item.

Press Esc to close the card.

Compressing the left panel

When the left navigation panel is open, you will see a left arrow in the middle of the panel.

Clicking this arrow will compress the panel so that only the icons remain visible.

This is useful when you want to maximize screen space.

When the panel is compressed, a right arrow appears. Clicking it will expand the panel again to show both icons and labels.

Push to Talk (PTT) dictation

Vega supports Push to Talk, which allows you to dictate messages instead of typing them.

How to use Push to Talk

  • Press and hold the space bar on your keyboard.

  • While holding the key, speak your message.

  • Release the key when you are finished.

Vega will convert your speech into text inside the chat.

Starting an in-person recording

You can start an in-person meeting recording directly from the Vega web platform.

To do this:

  1. Click the red record button at the top right of the Vega interface.

Once the recording begins, you can continue navigating anywhere in Vega while the recording runs.

You can navigate anywhere in Vega and the recording continues in the background.

Opening Vega chat from anywhere

When you are not on the chat page, an AI icon appears next to the record button in the top-right corner of the platform.

Clicking this icon opens a Vega chat from the page you are currently on.

This means you can start a conversation with Vega from anywhere in the platform without leaving your current workflow.

Analyzing documents in the Vega chat

You can attach files directly inside a Vega conversation.

To do this:

  • Click the paperclip icon located at the bottom right of the chat, next to the send button.

  • Once attached, Vega can process and analyze the document as part of the conversation.

The Vega chat interface

Starting a new chat

When you are on the Vega homepage and no thread is currently open, simply press Enter to start a new chat.

Clearing a conversation

At the bottom left of the chat, you will see a Clear button. Clicking Clear removes the current thread and resets the conversation.

Instant vs Thinking mode

Below the chat message area, you can choose between Instant and Thinking.

Instant is the default mode. It is designed for speed and works well for most day-to-day questions, retrieval requests, and quick back-and-forth conversations.

You can also switch to Thinking when you want Vega to spend more time reasoning before responding. This mode is better suited for requests that require deeper analysis, more synthesis, or more careful interpretation.

Meetings page

On the Meetings page, you can filter your meetings using several built-in filters.

These include:

  • Search bar: Search meetings by name.

  • Recent: Shows your most recent meetings.

  • Upcoming: Shows meetings scheduled in the future.

  • Prep: Displays meetings where Vega generated a pre-meeting preparation sheet.

  • Notes: Displays meetings where Vega generated post-meeting summary notes.

  • Contacts: Shows meetings linked to a specific contact.

Emails page

On the Emails page, you can filter your inbox using the following options:

  • Search bar: Search emails by subject line.

  • AI Draft: Shows emails where Vega prepared an automatic draft reply.

  • Contacts: Displays emails received from a contact in your inbox.

Support

If you ever have questions about Vega features or workflows, there are two ways to contact support.

  • From the chat: You can ask Vega directly in the chat to create a support request.

  • From the Vega interface: At the bottom left of the Vega web platform, click Support.

This opens a card where you can submit a support request directly to the Vega team.
